The music is definitely level 2-3 as advertised. It is clearly written and the notes are large enough to be seen without difficulty. I am an adult beginner and truly appreciate that feature.
For each song, the CD has two tracks – one with an excellent horn playing the melody with the accompaniment, and another with just the accompaniment so that you can hear what it should sound like and then have the opportunity to play yourself. This makes this publication a very good learning tool.
I have heard accomaniment CD’s that were poor quality synthesized music, but this one is great. If it’s synthesized (and I think it is), I can’t easily tell, but the horn soloist is certainly real.
If you’re looking for something like this, this one is a quality product.

The Best of Jim Croce (Easy Guitar with Notes & Tab) Review
I totally disagree with the above review. Definately not for beginners. This book is not bad at all and has some desent tabs. This is the 1st Croce tab book i’ve seen. I also have the Pete Huttlinger dvd which is excellent. But Pete doesn’t show all the guitar work such as the lead guitar on “Operator” but this book does and shows parts that he don’t show and some of the tabs are a little different as well. My biggest complaint is not enough songs. Of all his songs they only gave a few which include his biggest hits but to me they could have left out “Bad Leroy Brown” because it’s only chords and added “Lover’s Cross” and a couple more good finger picking songs. I’ve worked out both guitar parts on several songs and recorded them so I was very happy to have this book along with the Pete dvd. A nice combination. I agree there could be some improvement of the book but very happy to have it. It’s definately worth the price for the knowledge it will give you.
